Fans of spare, thoughtful indie rock have been awaiting Who You Are, Cary Brothers' debut full-length, since he stole moviegoer's hearts with "Blue Eyes," his simple but affecting contribution to 2003's Grammy-winning Garden State soundtrack. Their faith in the .

Cary Brothers is at his best when he is the most stripped down, such as in 'Honestly', where sparse instrumentation with subtle finger-picking accompanies Brothers' vocals, "lookin' for some hope, polished off the whiskey tonight, You turned a man to stone, for lookin' at you straight in the eyes
Everything Brothers touches has an air of hopeless romanticism, making his debut album a warm listen that leaves you starry-eyed. For better or worse, the album begins like the perfect first date from some overly sentimental chick flick. Given how long fans have had to wait, the unevenness of Who You Are makes it a disappointing debut for the clearly talented singer-songwriter. The inclusion of "Blue Eyes" as a bonus track, for all eight people interested in the album who do not already own the Garden State Soundtrack, is nice; especially following the two minutes of silence needed to slowly wake those who dozed off at the album's midway point.
Who You Are. This song is by Cary Brothers and appears on the album Who You Are (2007). Though the pin hole, see the night goYou're terrified of the light showOne more pill and you won't feel a thing. Cause you push me off in piecesSo you never feel the blameOf a broken heart and all that it contains. And you don't know who you areBut you don't know who you are. You try to, but you can't moveAs the windows crash around youNo one there to carry you away.
