Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor is a composition for piano, violin and cello by Sergei Rachmaninoff. The trio was written on January 18–21, 1892 in Moscow, when the composer was 18 years old. The work was first performed on January 30 of the same year with the composer at the piano, David Kreyn at the violin and Anatoliy Brandukov at the cello.
Trio Elegiac no. Trio Elegiac no. 9 1. Moderato - allegro moderato 2. Quasi variazone 3. Allegro risoluto. But there can be no doubt about its inferiority to the masterpiece that is his second trio.
Rachmaninov: The "Elegiac" Piano Trios is a 1984 Chandos Records recording starring The Borodin Trio. This trio consists of Rotislav Dubinsky (violin), Luba Edlina (piano) and Yuli Turovsky (cello). We here have the pleasure to listen to two piano trios. One being "Piano trio n. in g minor Op. and the other being "piano trio no 2. in d minor Op. 9". Denby Richards has written the music notes. The trio truly understands the music of Rachmaninov and the pace of the music is just right. A delightful recording that should not be missed
Rachmaninov: Elegiac Trio No. 1 in G Minor: Lento lugubre. Rachmaninov: Elegiac Trio No. 2 in D Minor. Two absolute gems bear witness to the fact: these ‘elegiac trios’, which were produced by a young composer still indisputably under the influence of Tchaikovsky. However, Rachmaninoff’s personality is already fully present, reaching heights of emotion and expressiveness.
