Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is an Argentine ska band from Buenos Aires. Formed in 1985, they released their first album, Bares y Fondas (Bars and Boardinghouses), in 1986 and have since released fourteen more albums. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs (formed in 1983) is a genre-defying Argentinian ska, rock, reggae and funk band whose democratic membership has grown in popularity since 1995’s hit single Matador, hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Founded by core members Gabriel Fernandez Capello (vocalist) and Flavio Cianciarulo (bassist), the pair subsequently invited saxist Segio Rotman, drummer Fernando Ricciardi, and keyboardist Mario Siperman to the complete the lineup. Featuring guest appearances from Mick Jones and Blondie’s Debbie Harry, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs’s 1995 album Rey Azucar marked their most successful album to date. Rooted in ska and reggae however also adopting salsa and punk themes, the record catapulted the group to the upper-echelons of Argentina’s music hierarchy and earned multi-platinum certification.

How does a band like Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, with a very long list of hits, decide on a playlist for a festival where time onstage is limited to one hour? We always have a show already prepared, but we also like to change a few things during the show, depending on how we see the crowd. I wouldn't say we took a break because that makes it sound like we didn't do anything new in those years. When the Cadillacs are doing their own thing like me with my band, Vicentico as a solo artist, we're still doing those things for LFC. We released a couple of EP's that did include new music and also some old songs we wanted to record again. But there was never any silence from our part, we were very active.
