They released their first album, Crossfade, on April 13, 2004. The first single off the album, "Cold," gave the band significant mainstream exposure. Two singles followed afterward in 2005: "So Far Away" and "Colors. In February 2005, their Crossfade album was certified Gold by the RIAA and was later certified Platinum in August 2005. In June 2010, the track listing for We All Bleed was revealed, and the first single, "Killing Me Inside," was released along with a music video. The release date for We All Bleed was originally October 26, 2010, but was pushed back first to January 2011, then April 12, 2011, before being pushed back a third time to June 21, 2011.

Five years after the disappointing sophomore album Falling Away, Crossfade return on We All Bleed as a somewhat reconstituted outfit. Original members Ed Sloan (vocals, guitar) and Mitch James (bass) are joined by yet another drummer, Mark Castillo, and a new guitarist and keyboard player, Les Hall.

South Carolina's Crossfade have revealed that they will release their third album, 'We All Bleed,' on Oct. 26 through Eleven Seven. After two albums - 2004's self-titled, platinum debut, which yielded the ubiquitous and moody single 'Cold,' and 2007's 'Falling Always' - released via the major label system at Columbia, Crossfade are going indie again. They cut ties, shed skin and have emerged from these events stronger and more focused than ever. Crossfade's rebirth of sound on 'We All Bleed' can be heard from the start of the lead single, 'Killing Me Inside. Sloan admitted the business of being in a band choked his creative momentum within Crossfade, saying, "Coming from the success of the first record and losing our way after the second album hit me hard. You get signed, everything is golden and you think it'll go on forever," he says. After that record, I was consumed with self-doubt, and I shut down.

Do or die Can't you feel it in your heart? Shooting blood under your skin It's all around you. Do or die Don't you feel it in your soul? Blaming me for all that's wrong Or is it all you? Do or die Could have taken them all Sixteen marks on your skin Where did I go wrong (Where did I go) You would choose suicide I can see it in your eyes No more pills for you to swallow And no tomorrow

We All Bleed is the third studio recording for Crossfade, and follows their 2006 release Falling Away. Ten tracks in all, Crossfade start out decently heavy with Dead Memories, then begin to slow a bit with Killing Me Inside. Both songs have a melodic quality to them that would prevent classifying them as ‘Progressive Metal’, but the tracks do have that feel at moments as well. They have loosely been pinned with the ‘Alternative Rock’ label, however, that doesn’t entirely fit them either. The third track, Prove You Wrong is one of the high notes of the album. The vocals are supreme here.
