Write Me A Letter Lyrics. I know that I haven’t been around in a bit But Mama, don’t think that I could ever forget You probably been wondering as to where that I’ve been Got picked up last week, and I’m stuck in the pin And I know that I haven’t been the best son You can’t forgive for all. the things that I done But my attorney tells me that I got a good case So write me a letter, Ma, and send me your grace. Write me a letter, give me a call 'Cause I’ve been inside for way too long With all of my sorrows and all my regrets Write me a letter and help me forget

Why Don Henley's album cover idea led to two photographers sitting in a cherry-picker 60-feet off the ground. According to Don Henley, the sleeve of The Eagles’ 1976 album Hotel California was intended to convert an atmosphere of faded glory, loss of innocence and decadence. There was no shortage of locations that fitted the bill in the band’s home town of Los Angeles, but Henley looked further afield for his creatives, turning to British art director Kosh, who made his reputation with The Beatles (most notably 1969’s Abbey Road) and consolidated it with work for The Who (1971’s Who’s Next).
was saying the Eagles were a team and not everybody can be the running back or the quarterback. He was the quarterback. Frey's lofty ambitions were fulfilled by Hotel California, The Eagles' fifth album. Released in 1976, it sold 16 million copies in the US and double that figure worldwide. A decade earlier, he was more forthcoming, telling NBC's Bob Costas that he and Henley "wanted to write a song that was sort of like an episode of the Twilight Zone". All of our songs were cinematic, but we wanted to open up with," he said.
When the Eagles reconvened in the spring of 1976 to begin work on what was to be their fifth album, Felder assembled cassettes of his instrumental demos for his bandmates to mine for song ideas. Despite his initial reticence, the reggae-flavored tune made the cut. Felder had submitted a cassette tape containing about half a dozen different pieces of music, Henley told Rolling Stone in June. They were joined at Criteria by Black Sabbath, holed up in the adjacent studio working on their Technical Ecstasy album. The Eagles were recording next door, but we were too loud for them, Tony Iommi told Uncut in 2014. It kept coming through the wall into their sessions.
