Various - Woodstock 40 FLAC album

Perhaps the most significant aspect of this set is that it contains tracks by almost every single artist who appeared on the Woodstock stage in their proper sequence.

Woodstock: 40 Years On (Box Set)(6CD). Forty years on, there's no denying the positive effect that the Woodstock festival had on the music business and to those that understood it's 'message', reaching out to billions of people all around the world. It a good addition to my collection of Woodstock music. However only about half of the album is new materials. It would of been a lot better if it was not half full of material from the Orginial album.

Woodstock 1999 is a two-disc set that documents the Woodstock 1999 festival. It was released during October 1999, nearly three months after the event took place. The album was released on Epic Records. The set features one song from each of 32 performing artists. It also features the recording of the speech given when the fires got out of hand and the Red Hot Chili Peppers performance was paused on the last day of the festival, on the track "Interlude" (Disc one, number 16).

The Woodstock 40th will begin with a blessing by the American Indigenous People and several Beat Generation poets. There will be many speakers from the Peace Movement, the Free Speech Movement and the Anti-War movement along with many of the acts who originally performed at Woodstock (to be announced). There will also be a Green Vendor Village with merchandise highlighting the emerging Green Movement. The hero of this Woodstock 40th Anniversary release is the kind dairy farmer, Max Yasgur who agreed to allow Woodstock Ventures to hold the concert on his farm at the last moment. Written by Max’s cousin Abigail Yasgur and her husband Joseph Lipner, this kids story teaches children and has fun with the legendary festival in a playful manner.

The 'wisdom' dispensed by Jerry Garcia, Chip Monck and Country Joe McDonald about the various dubious types of acid sums up the contrary logic while still making you misty-eyed for innocent belief in the power of positive thinking. And essentially that's what Woodstock represents. More than the music or the visuals, its importance stems from the fact that so many people put up with conditions that would appal the modern festival-goer and still came away believing that they could change the world.

Woodstock 1969 was a reaction by the youth of its time and the conditions we faced, says Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang. We proved that it is possible to live together in harmony and with compassio. ith only our best selves represented. Woodstock gave people around the world hope, which is why I think it remains relevant today. Explore the history of Woodstock. And come make history with us. Again.
