Bop Jazz Instrument Piano Jazz. This five-CD deluxe set contains an impressive 150-page booklet and reissues every scrap of music that the innovative pianist Bud Powell recorded for Verve. Bud Powell is one of those pianists that have influenced just about every one that has followed in his wake. 15 October at 05:42 ·. The great Cole Porter died of kidney failure on 15 October 1964, in Santa Monica, California, at the age of 73. So many great artists covered his songs, including Bud Powell.
