Led Zeppelin have announced their return after four decades with a new studio album in September and a world tour featuring drummer Ringo Starr in the fall. The new album, simply titled Led Zeppelin V, features the same four symbols that graced the band’s landmark fourth album Led Zeppelin IV (also referred to as ZoSo). The record is slated for release September 25, 2019 – exactly thirty-nine years after drummer John Bonham’s tragic passing. Led Zeppelin V will be the band’s ninth studio album (following 1979’s In Through the Out Door) and the first full collection of new material since 1982’s Coda, a post-breakup compilation of unused tracks and b-sides

Led Zeppelin is the debut album by English rock band Led Zeppelin. It was released on 12 January 1969 in the United States and on 31 March in the United Kingdom by Atlantic Records. The album was recorded in September and October 1968 at Olympic Studios, London, shortly after the band's formation. It contains a mix of original material worked out in the first rehearsals, and remakes and rearrangements of contemporary blues and folk songs

When we got back to England, Keith just said, This is the best album cover I have ever seen. And again, it wasn’t a picture of a band. It was something radically different that represented everything Keith wanted. Led Zeppelin, ‘Houses of the Holy’ (1973). One day, the phone rang, and it’s Jimmy Page. He said, I’ve seen an album cover that you’ve done for a band called Wishbone Ash, which was Argus. Would you like to do something for Led Zeppelin? I said, Sure.

The Led Zeppelin bootleg recordings are a collection of audio and video recordings of musical performances by the English rock band Led Zeppelin which were never officially released by the band, or under other legal authority. The recordings consist of both live concert performances and outtakes from studio sessions conducted by the band. Many hundreds of Led Zeppelin bootlegs exist, and are widely collected by fans.

Led Zeppelin had a habit of holding onto material until they deemed it ready, for years sometimes. Many of the songs from 1975's Physical Graffiti were actually recorded as far back as the III sessions. Boogie with Stu" from Graffiti originally came from the IV sessions, as did "Black Country Woman. 10. The symbols the band chose for themselves on the album art don't mean as much as you might think. For their eponymous debut, Led Zeppelin stylistically fused elements of blues and rock music – Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, You Shook Me, and I Can’t Quit You Baby are based upon blues standards. Often considered as the album’s centrepiece, Dazed and Confused notably showcased Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a violin bow. This unorthodox technique was repeated on How Many More Times. Despite initial scepticism upon its release, the legacy and influence of Led Zeppelin is now widely recognised

Led Zeppelin had a fully formed, distinctive sound from the outset, as their eponymous debut illustrates. Taking the heavy, distorted electric blues of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Cream to an extreme, Zeppelin created a majestic, powerful brand of guitar rock constructed around simple, memorable riffs and lumbering rhythms. But the key to the group's attack was subtlety: it wasn't just an onslaught of guitar noise, it was shaded and textured, filled with alternating dynamics and tempos. As Led Zeppelin proves, the group was capable of such multi-layered music from the start. Although the album isn't as varied as some of their later efforts, it nevertheless marked a significant turning point in the evolution of hard rock and heavy metal.

On October 22, 1969 Led Zeppelin released their iconic second album. In 2004, Classic Rock looked at how this record came together. Led Zeppelin II was a twisted, swaggering beast of a record, born out of the experiences the four-piece (Page, along with singer Robert Plant, drummer John Bonham and bassist John Paul Jones) were gaining from being part of, to coin a Spïnal Tap-ism, a living, breathing rock band on the road. It was in the US that Zeppelin first really made their mark, and their label (Atlantic Records) was anxious to reap full benefit from what was fast becoming their biggest dollar earner since Cream.
