Freddie Redd (born May 29, 1928) is an American hard-bop pianist and composer. He is probably best known for writing music to accompany The Connection (1959), a play by Jack Gelber. Redd was born and grew up in New York City; after losing his father at the age of one, he was raised by his mother, who moved around Harlem, Brooklyn and other neighborhoods.
Album Eurovision: You Decide 2019. I've been locked in the locker I was picked last in soccer And they say that it's all fun But their fun, it ain't fun, man I'm done And I know we're all different Our beliefs and religions But I don't see the difference In me, you, your, tu or moi, vous. So if you've had enough, then. Come to the land of the lost and lonely Don't be afraid, we'll be one big family Of freaks, like you and me I know a place where the bruised and broken Live like the kings.

Freddie Redd - I'll Remember April. This lovely day will lengthen into evening We'll sigh goodbye to all we ever had Alone where we have walked together I'll remember April and be glad. I'll be content you loved me once in April Your lips were warm and love and spring were new I'm not afraid of autumn and her sorrow For I'll remember April and you. The fire will dwindle into glowing ashes For flames live such a little while I won't forget but I won't be lonely I'll remember April and smile. Written by: DON RAYE, GENE DE PAUL, PATRICIA JOHNSTON.
Freddie Redd is one of those long-forgotten names in Blue Note history. He was a pianist in the bebop tradition of Bud Powell, with a tinge of Thelonious Monk. He recorded exactly two albums as a Blue Note leader, a few more as a session man, then disappeared for a number of years. And yet, based on the evidence of Music from The Connection, Redd was a pretty swinging cat. Blue Note, of course, never trafficked in soundtracks from movies or Broadway, and this isn't exactly a soundtrack. The Connection was a play about jazz musicians and junkies.
