Smokey Robinson was born to an African-American father and a mother of African-American and French ancestry into a poor family in the North End area of Detroit. His uncle Claude gave him the nickname "Smokey Joe" when he was a child. He attended Northern High School, where he was above average academically and a keen athlete, though his main interest was music and he formed a doo-wop group named the Five Chimes. Robinson said his interest in music started after hearing the groups Nolan Strong & the Diablos and Billy Ward and his Dominoes on the radio as a child. Robinson later listed Barrett Strong, a Detroit native, as a strong vocal influence. Another member, Emerson Rogers, was replaced by Bobby's cousin Claudette Rogers. The group's guitarist, Marv Tarplin, joined them sometime in 1958.
Smokie (originally spelt Smokey) are an English rock band from Bradford, Yorkshire. The band found success at home and abroad after teaming up with Mike Chapman and Nicky Chinn. They have had a number of line-up changes and were still actively touring in 2018.
Eugene Rogers (March 23, 1917–November 23, 1993), known professionally as Smokey Rogers, was an American Western swing musician and songwriter active during the 1940s and 50s on the West Coast. Born in McMinnville, Tennessee, Rogers joined Spade Cooley's band in the 1940s (who gave Rogers his stage name). Tex Williams, Rogers and other members of Cooley's band formed a group called The Western Caravan. Both groups featured Rogers on vocals for novelty songs.
Produced by Fred Rose. Album Memorial Album. Your Cheatin’ Heart Lyrics. Your cheatin' heart Will make you weep You'll cry and cry And try to sleep. But sleep won't come The whole night through Your cheatin' heart Will tell on you. When tears come down Like falling rain You'll toss around And call my name. You'll walk the floor The way I do Your cheatin' heart Will tell on you. Your cheatin' heart Will pine some day And crave the love You threw away. The time will come When you'll be blue Your cheatin' heart Will tell on you. Songwriter: Hank Williams Sr. More on Genius. About Your Cheatin’ Heart. Your Cheatin' Heart by Hank Williams Sr. was released as a single in 1953.
And don't you cry tonight Don't you cry tonight Don't you cry tonight There's a heaven above you baby And don't you cry tonight. And please remember That I never lied And please remember How I felt inside now honey You gotta make it your own way But you'll be alright now sugar You'll feel better tomorrow Come the morning light now baby . This song is about a man cheating on his lady. He is telling her not to feel sad now that she has found out because he really does care for her (even though he cheated on her) and he does not want her to feel sad. He tells her
