It was released on 19 March 2001 by record label Virgin. It was supported by four singles; two of them, "Found That Soul" and "So Why So Sad", were released on the same day for promotional purposes.
Manic Street Preachers are an alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Blackwood, Wales, UK. Their discography consists of 13 studio albums, three compilation albums, four video albums, 52 music videos, five extended plays, 41 singles, 185 B-sides, plus appearances on various artist compilations.

Know Your Enemy" is an album by the Manic Street Preachers. It was released in March 2001 on Virgin Records. The album is arguably the band's most inconsistent in style, with its songs ranging from energetic lo-fi rock songs reminiscent of their earlier material to highly produced, more melodic pop songs as well as for example a disco song. The album also features Nicky Wire's debut as a lead vocalist in the song 'Wattsville Blues' and James Dean Bradfield's debut as a lyricist on 'Ocean Spray'

Because Know Your Enemy, produced with an ear for invention, spontaneity and grungy din by Dave Eringa, Mike Hedges and David Holmes, is all over the place and so blatantly derivative of so many bands that it occasionally resembles one of those old Top of the Pops compilations. But it does make Know Your Enemy more fun to listen to than anything since their Generation Terrorists debut. This scattershot approach has its shortcomings, though. Wattsville Blues features Wire's first lead vocals on a Manics LP.
took the band to a commercial extreme. In the process, it placed them in the opposite extreme that a lot of other bands explored around this time; a consciously raw, simple, unprocessed production.
