Gambale in the early '90s was not a strong enough composer to contribute all of the music to his own sessions (as he does here) and, despite some fine guitarwork and plenty of flashy fire, this is a lesser effort.

Mr. Hollywood Line" and "Califia" are very pop in nature, but Frank eschews guitar breaks for a trumpet solo on one and a saxophone line on the other, whilst "My Silent Heart" is a pure love song as basic as can be.

Note Worker is the fourth studio album by guitarist Frank Gambale, released in 1991 through Victor Entertainment and reissued on 24 April 2001 through Samson Records. The album is Gambale's first release to enter the . Billboard charts, reaching No. 25 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Albums. It remains the last studio album to feature his own singing.
