The Air Force is the fifth album by Xiu Xiu. It was released on September 15, 2006, and is produced by Greg Saunier of Deerhoof, who also performs on the album with band members Caralee McElroy and Jamie Stewart. The album was produced by Greg Saunier of Deerhoof, and released on 5 Rue Christine in September 2006. Stewart said that the year was "one of the first not dominated by personal tragedies" and that the album is about "making other people feel bad" instead of feeling bad oneself.
Air Force" is the official song of the United States Air Force, adopted in the late 1940s. Originally, the song was titled "Army Air Corps". Robert MacArthur Crawford wrote the initial first verse and the basic melody line in May of 1939. During World War II, the service was renamed "Army Air Forces" due to the change of the main American army's air arm naming in mid-1941, and the song title changed to agree.
