Over the years, Diamond Plate has slowly garnered a steady fan base through their high energy EP releases. With the excellent musicianship on the album, it is almost hard to believe that the members have an average age of 19-20 years old, and Generation Why? has certainly managed to bring old-school thrash metal up to date with a modern sound. For a one hour thrash metal album, Generation Why? surprisingly manages to keep its listeners interested, and this is certainly the mark of an excellent album.

Their new album, Generation Why?, complete with audio samples questioning patriotism and authority, shows that Earache still know a winner when they see one. Diamond Plate initially made waves on Thrash Clash Vol. 2, alongside Swedish thrashers Oppression. While the production on Clash was a touch rough, the band instantly stood out as one to watch. Anyone can play fast.
Generation Why? " displays some of the most intricate riffs that are usually heard by the riffmasters in the classic thrash bands you either grew up with or grew up listening to on your dad's stereo. Every song on the album has a memorable riff and will never stray into simplicity. The barked lyrics from vocalist Jon Macak hit you square in the gut. Nothing feels better than listening to a man yell angry lyrics to you while being attacked by a barrage of guitars and drums going faster than the speed of sound.
