Music Man is an album by American country music artist Waylon Jennings, released in 1980 on RCA Victor. The new decade brought another album for Jennings, his fifth since 1976. Produced by the singer and Waylon's drummer Richie Albright, the mood is lighter than it had been on Jennings' previous release, the ballad-heavy What Goes Around Comes Around.
Pitchfork Music Festival Chicago. Pitchfork Music Festival Paris. I Told You chronicles this journey, relying heavily on skits and an out-of-body Menace II Society-esque narration ploy to tell its story, which basically is a long-winded build to (as its title implies) force-feeding doubters crow, cycling through several iterations of Drake in the process. As a title, I Told You isn’t a far cry from Thank Me Later. To be clear, Tory Lanez will never be Drake. The longer I Told You runs, though, the more it unravels. It’s an overly ambitious project that attempts to shoot a movie and forgets it’s an album in the process. Sometimes in an effort to pat himself on the back, Lanez reduces songs to plot points in his own myth-making. He could’ve shaved at least 10 minutes off the 76-minute runtime just by cutting the fat.
Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?" is a popular song written by Scotty Wiseman for the 1944 musical film, Sing, Neighbor, Sing and performed by Lulu Belle and Scotty. It was the greatest hit of Wiseman and his wife and one of the first country music songs to attract major attention in the pop music field. It's repeating fourth line is "Well darling, I'm telling you no. Although it was featured in the movie, it wasn't released by them until 1947 (and then again in 1956).

The Music Man found Robert Preston re-creating his starring role as conman Professor Harold Hill, intent on swindling the good people of River City, IA, by selling them on a fictitious boys' band, and some minor roles were also filled by the Broadway originals.
How has Tory reflected back on his debut album? In an interview with HotNewHipHop, he expressed that: I will always call it a classic because of what it is and the body of work that it is. My thing with I Told You when I listen back to it is there was nothing to really dance to–and when I say dance– I don’t mean necessarily get and pop; there was nothing that make you go: I’ll play this at a party. There was only the two singles that had came out, and I think I kinda went at that with a really industry kinda approach to it because it was my first album
