New Age Steppers were a dub collective from the United Kingdom, formed by producer Adrian Sherwood and featuring members of various prominent 1970s UK post-punk groups, including Ari Up and Viv Albertine of the Slits, Mark Stewart of The Pop Group, and John Waddington and Bruce Smith of Rip Rig + Panic. Other musicians included associates of Sherwood's On-U Sound label, including George Oban, Style Scott, and Eskimo Fox.

Originally released in 1983, it features unlikely but successful NAS takes on Chaka Khan’s Some Love and blues staple Stormy Weather (made famous by Billie Holiday amongst others).

The New Age Steppers.

The third and final New Age Steppers album (unless one considers the Creation Rebel dub sets), Foundation Steppers is dominated by Bim Sherman's magnificent vocals, with the majority of his showcases then segueing into a lengthy dub interlude, to complete one of the finest "traditional" reggae albums in the On-U canon. Assuming, of course, that a traditional album would find space for "Five Dog Race," an earthquake instrumental that Adrian Sherwood would return to on several occasions in the future
