The Who Sell Out. C1. Armenia City In The Sky. Written-By – John Keene. nice sleeve, great catch here also this does not pop up in good condition often either, it took me a while to find my copy in vg++ condition so im happy

A Quick One is the Who's most delightfully unfocused album, a weaving roll through the band's most democratic period. Bassist John Entwistle contributed two songs (including "Boris the Spider," probably his most endearing composition); drummer Keith Moon did, too (the instrumental "Cobwebs and Strange" encapsulates his boozy, woozy charm in two and a half minutes). Singer Roger Daltrey wrote one song, and there's a cover of the Martha & the Vandellas hit "Heat Wave. It's Townshend's first attempt at a rock opera, prefiguring future classic Who albums like The Who Sell Out, Tommy and Quadrophenia. And it's a masterpiece of tension and release, the story of a woman who has an affair after her boyfriend goes missing, told through various song movements that shift through moods and tempos.

The Who Sell Out by The Who Audio CD £. 9. Who's Next by The Who Audio CD £. 0. 'A Quick One While He's Away'' is Townshend's first attempt at a rock opera, perhaps the first in pop music. It's a suite of six episodes, comprising a simple tale of an unfaithful wife who has a quick leg-over with a lover called Ivor and is happily absolved by her husband. Each is a self-contained song, the whole spliced together in much the same way as Abbey Road's long medley would be, three years later

Who's Next With its acoustic guitars and drumless bits, this triumph of hard rock is no more a pure hard rock album than Tommy. It's got more juice than Live at Leeds.

In the US The Who Sell Out was released on 6 January 1968 (Decca DL 4950, DL 74950 ) followed by the CD (MCA MCAD-31332) in the 1980s and remastered CD (MCAD-11268) in 1995. Disc Two consisted of the original 13 tracks in mono plus ten bonus tracks and out-takes

as of today i can now say i have a copy of this spanish 1979 reissue of these two classic who records released as a budget two lp gatefold set, everything i said last year below remains the same, i saw this reissue at a good price and grabbed it, i still prefer the original 1974 issue the best though......
there where two pressings of this in spain, i have the first pressing from 1974, it is basically identical to this one with the exception of the print 2 lp set in the top left hand corner of the front of the sleeve, this edition does not come with that and i ONLY HAVE THE 1974 EDITION NOT THIS ONE........................
