Love Opus is the ninth and final studio album by Heavy D. It was released on September 27, 2011 on Stride Entertainment, almost two months before Heavy D's death. Eric Charles Bibb (born August 16, 1951) is an American-born blues singer and songwriter. Heavy D. Dwight Arrington Myers (May 24, 1967 – November 8, 2011), better known as Heavy D, was a Jamaican-born American rapper, record producer, singer, actor. Myers was the former leader of Heavy D & the Boyz, a hip hop group which included dancers/background vocalists G-Whiz (Glen Parrish), "Trouble" T. Roy (Troy Dixon), and Eddie F (born Edward Ferrell). The group maintained a sizable audience in the United States through most of the 1990s.
Heavy is the second album by rapper Heavy D. The album was released on June 15, 1999 for Uptown Records and was produced by Heavy D, Tony Dofat, Erick Sermon, Jay Dee and Q-Tip. The album was a mild success, making it to on the Billboard 200 and on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It is Heavy D's lowest selling album to date at a little over 500,000 units sold. Guests on the album include Cee-Lo, Q-Tip, Chico DeBarge, Big Pun and Eightball.

Heavy dropped Love Opus Sept. 17 with the album only featuring eight tracks. In 2008, Heavy released an album composed exclusively of reggae jams with no rapping. Heavy D, also known as Dwight Arrington Myers, started rapping in 1986 with his group, Heavy D and the Boys. The rapper's big break through came in 1989 with Big Tyme going platinum and reaching No. 1, and again in 1994 with Nuttin' But Love. Heavy D performed at the Hip-Hop awards in October making it his first live performance in 15 years.
