Staggered Crossing, sometimes nicknamed StagX, are a Canadian roots rock band formed in 1996 in Toronto. The original group was formed in 1996 (according to some sources about 1997) in Toronto by four high school friends, Julian Taylor (JT), David . Marshall, Dan Black and Jeremy Elliott. The group quickly gained a local following in North Toronto due to their frequent performances. Later in 1996 they recorded their first EP with Toronto musician and producer, Darrell O'Dea.

Formed in 1995 in Toronto, Staggered Crossing has been climbing the Canadian rock echelon for more than a decade, skipping rungs here and sliding back there. They've been championed by a major label, yet were unexpectedly dropped less than a year after their red-hot album was released. They've won awards for their songs, only to have to fight tooth and nail in a court of law to secure their publishing rights. They've showcased their trademark high-energy live show on major tours across the country, while managers, bandmates and supporters alike have come and gone.
