Music for St. James the Greater (Binchois Consort) - Студийный альбом от Guillaume Dufay. В альбом вошло 14 треков.
Taken on December 31, 2015.
Whereas Dufay traveled widely and reside in Italy for major years of his career, Gilles Binchois appears to have spent nearly all his life near his birthplace of Mons, in Burgundy. Other Burgundians, notably Antoine Busnois and Johannes Ockeghem, carried Binchois's name and influence abroad. The recording was made in 1979, and to my ears today it sounds "dated" in performance practices. The album cover is a miniature from a Burgundian "Book of Hours" - a sort of luxurious illuminated handbook for the private devotions of the wealthy. The picture shows a musician amid his instruments, receiving inspiration from an angelic presence just as Joan of Arc claimed to have been inspired by angelic voices.

Guillaume Du Fay (French: ; also Dufay, Du Fayt; 5 August, c. 1397 – 27 November 1474) was a Franco-Flemish composer of the early Renaissance. A central figure in the Burgundian School, he was regarded by his contemporaries as one of the leading composers in Europe in the mid-15th century. His uniquely contrapuntal and complex motet "Nuper rosarum flores" demonstrates the influential exchange of musical ideas among artists around the world during the early Renaissance period.
