It was the final pastoral talk of Fr. Seraphim’s life-the fruit of his spiritual growth as an Orthodox Christian and his matured outlook as an Orthodox pastor. have a conscious Orthodox Faith, an Orthodox worldview, so that one will not be easily influenced by worldly ways of thinking and behaving; the need to be aware of the signs of the times and of the totalitarian demands that the modern world makes on one; the need to be down-to-earth and at the same time to have one’s heart.

One of the best books I have ever read. This book reaffirms what the eyes already see everywhere. Father Seraphim's genius is in his ability to Shepard his flock of readers (Orthodox Christians) into an inductive understanding of how this world became what it is today. The historical and philosophical structuralism is the most powerful I've ever read. It is powerful because the reader does not require a background in philosophical, theological or historical studies. Father Seraphim takes the reader by the hand. Great book by Fr. Seraphim Rose.
