Still Life is a live album by the Rolling Stones, released in 1982. Recorded during the band's 1981 American tour, it was released in time for their 1982 European tour.

By 1981, the Rolling Stones were considered rock’s elder statesmen, though Mick Jagger and Keith Richards had yet to turn forty. For their 1981 American Tour, they took on corporate sponsorship, had concerts filmed for the movie Let’s Spend the Night Together and released this live album. While it is not prime Stones, it does capture the group cruising on the success of their latest studio album, Tattoo You, and their latest classic, Start Me Up. Like Love You Live before it, Still Life showcases the Stones as pure entertainers, although the band adds enough rhythmic grit to keep the record from sinking into pure showbiz formula. Nevertheless, there isn't nearly enough grit to make it rock as hard as Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out! or even Love You Live, depressingly enough.
Rolling Stone ranks the 50 best live albums ever, from Jimi Hendrix at Monterey to Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison. Columbus, however, demonstrated that the band was still a New Orleans-funk powerhouse, with energy and improv skills to spare, as demonstrated by "Dixie Chicken" and "Tripe Faced Boogie. Lowell later overdubbed most of his lead vocals and many guitar solos to great effect, giving the album an engagingly punchy sense of detail.
