Q&A: Eddie Spaghetti of Supersuckers. Willie Nelson, Farm Aid, Hootie, bathroom humo. othing is sacred for the band behind Sacrilicious. The only thing that’s more fun than watching a Supersuckers show is talking to the band’s singer, Eddie Spaghetti. This is a man who’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind. Spaghetti and his fellow Seattle band mates are currently walking the Earth to support their fine new album, Sacrilicious, and have recently made a band-member change: Guitarist Rick Sims has been replaced by original guitarist Ron Heathman. Spaghetti recently took time off for a candid chat about drugs, Hootie and bodily functions. The song Marie off your new album is very affecting. I’m uncomfortable with making it a single. This is a song about our old lead singer, who was my best friend all through high school.

Eddie Vedder joined Supersuckers at a benefit show to help singer Eddie Spaghetti's cancer battle and they covered a Ramones classic. One of rock's good guys, Supersuckers frontman Eddie Spaghetti, is facing a scary situation and one of his pals, Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder, turned up at a show Thursday night (June 18) to help him out. Spaghetti just learned that he's been diagnosed with Stage 3 oropharynx cancer. As a result, the band canceled their upcoming summer trek and played their final show last night before the singer undergoes treatment. The show, at Seattle's Tractor Tavern, served as a fundraiser for Spaghetti, and Vedder made a guest appearance, joining the band for a cover of the Ramones'.
And there we have it, ladies and gentlemen, Eddie Spaghetti is cancer free. He laughs that his wife hates it when he says he grateful all the time, but the fact is that he gripes less about the little things that used to piss him off, appreciates life more. The experience has also rekindled his love of performing.
Eddie Spaghetti has been the ringleader of the Supersuckers since 1988. But with the band’s creation of their own conglomerate (Mid Fi Recordings) in 2002, Spaghetti also found time for a tidy, good-timin’ solo career.
