John Patton - Accent On The Blues FLAC album

John Patton - Hammond organ - Marvin Cabell - tenor saxophone, saxello, flute - James "Blood" Ulmer - guitar - Leroy Williams - drums.

Accent On The Blues" is one of the greatest statements to emerge from the golden era of the Hammond B-3. The organ jazz played in the 1960s and '70s was amazing. Cats like Jimmy Smith, Groove Holmes and Jack McDuff played with such artistry. Amidst this sea of greatness, what's so different about this album? As a forgotten gem, "Accent On The Blues" digs deeper. It's not just the songs and arrangements but also the performance and production that is sublime. The groove is blissful; this music is the embodiment of chill  . While this is technically an organ project, George Coleman also makes this a great tenor saxophone album. Most importantly, Big John Patton plays some bad-ass organ. His organ technique expresses a remarkable level of nuance and depth.

baca lagiMost John Patton albums are hard-driving, edgy soul-jazz and funk, and the title of Accent on the Blues makes the record seem like it would be no different than his other sessions. Of course, that isn't the case. Accent on the Blues is among the most atmospheric music Patton has ever made main semua. Tambah pada Koleksi Alih keluar dari Koleksi.
