Oh, Harry - Arena Rock (CD, Album).
Arena rock (also known as album-oriented rock, anthem rock, corporate rock, dad rock, melodic rock, pomp rock, and stadium rock) is a style of rock music that originated in the mid-1970s. As hard rock bands and those playing a softer yet strident kind of pop rock became increasingly popular, groups began creating material inherently designed for large audiences, and arena rock developed from their use of more commercially oriented and radio-friendly sounds.

HELHORSE Return With Brand New Album + Reveal First Details And Video!' Rock Arena UK. When gnarly punk, pure metal and the swagger of hard rock meet, it can only mean one thing: the unholy rebirth of Helhorse! The Danes love to rock out with riffs heavier than Godzilla& balls.
Arena rock, so called because they commonly sold out arena venues, includes such classic rock staples as Queen, Boston, Styx, Kiss, and many other anthem-singing, power ballad-howling bands. Southern classical rock, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Credence Clearwater Revival, Allman Brothers Band, and others can pack soulful guitar riffs.
Main genre: Rock, Pop. Is a cover of 1 song. Now That We Found Love by The O'Jays (1973).
Arena Rock developed in the mid-'70s, when hard rock and heavy metal bands began to gain popularity. The music became more commercially oriented and radio-friendly, boasting slick productions and anthemic choruses, both on their hard rock numbers and their sweeping power ballads. Most of these bands earned their following through saturation airplay on FM radio and through constant touring. Bands like Journey, REO Speedwagon, Boston, Foreigner, and Styx became some of the most popular bands of the mid- to late '70s through this circuit.
Joan Jett, Chrissie Hynde, and Patty Smyth may not quite make the cut for this particular list, but that's only because Pat Benatar unleashed such an impressive stream of driving stadium rock specimens. Treat Me Right," "Heartbreaker" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" practically invented the sound of arena rock: muscular riffs, sparkling melodies, and kick-ass vocals.
Arena rock takes its sound from hard rock, heavy metal, and progressive rock. Arena rock is "heavy", but it is not as hard and is "more commercially oriented" than other subgenres of hard rock and heavy metal. Other features include "slick productions", an emphasis on the verses, and an "unnatural emphasis on big, anthemic hooks and choruses", the last trait "set apart from its influences".
