Horizon Ablaze - The Weight Of A Thousand Suns FLAC album
Band: Horizon Ablaze Album: The Weight of a Thousand Suns Type: Full-length Release Date: February 17th, 2018 Genre: Blackened Death Metal Country: Norway.
Ever since Emperor first semi-reformed for their ongoing series of reunion shows people have been asking them about the possibility of a new album. Ultimately, regardless of whatever comparisons and contrasts you might wish to draw along the way, the entirety of The Weight of a Thousand Suns – from the bold hooks and fret-bursting bombast of Ghost of a Previous Nightmare, to the proggy blackened catharsis of album closer Insidious (which you can check out below) – is consistently more than the mere sum of its parts
planex These leftover tracks from this year's excellent "The Weight of a Thousand Suns" don't feel like leftovers. These are highlights. This EP has more intense riffage, and no quiet moments. Almost entirely black metal styled vocals instead of the core shouts frequently featured on Thousand Suns. The two tracks here are more punishing than most of their last album.

For Horizon Ablaze, their 2018 record is but the band’s third offering, showing considerable growth between albums, aided by a clear, professional production. Aesthetically, this album can be seen as a dream come true for modern day realists looking forward to the natural growth of metal. Highlights emerge throughout The Weight Of A Thousand Suns. Behind the snarled vocal efforts and sheer aggressive tones of album opener, ‘Sleep Is The Brother Of Death’ to the prog-laced, melodious reprieve of ‘Insidious’ Horizon Ablaze’s 2018 record stays remarkably heavy, even if two different sides of the coin are on display. It becomes difficult to articulate how a single track highlights this record as each of The Weight Of A Thousand Suns’ eight tracks are worthy of separate mention.

Horizon Ablaze from Kristiansand will release their third album, The Weight of a Thousand Suns on February 16th 2018 via Leviatan/Diger. The album tells the story of a journey through the human psyche and a deep dive into the man’s innermost fears and dreams. With new vocalist Andre Kvebek (ex. 1349, Pantheon I, From the Vastland) Horizon Ablaze produce a combination of atmospheric black metal and death metal intensity
Horizon Ablaze have crafted a stunning portrait of the frailty of the human psyche on The Weight of a Thousand Suns. Aside from a bit of a mid-album lull, the record is propelled by a truly fantastic opening and closing. What actually sets The Weight of a Thousand Suns apart from the growing number of progressive extreme metal groups of late is the band’s sonic dexterity and songwriting smarts. The closing couplet in the record features the most incendiary work on the record while also diverting quite far from the norm.
At times, the production almost seems a little bit too polished, but that is only a minor deficiency when you've constructed an album of this quality. Favourite songs: Sleep is the Brother of Death and She Who Walks Upon the Sea. 1y. snovelle. Or consider a donation? Track List.
