Various - From The Pages Of Experimental Musical Instruments Volume 11 FLAC album

From piano and flute to violin and guitar, we are familiar with various kinds of musical instruments. And as with any other things, there are some odd specimens among musical instruments as well

We can make our own music! 4th graders at BCP in Belle Chasse created, demonstrated, and presented their very own musical instruments after our studies o. .

An experimental musical instrument (or custom-made instrument) is a musical instrument that modifies or extends an existing instrument or class of instruments, or defines or creates a new class of instrument. Some are created through simple modifications, such as cracked drum cymbals or metal objects inserted between piano strings in a prepared piano. Some experimental instruments are created from household items like a homemade mute for brass instruments such as bathtub plugs.

The CD features recordings of all sorts of odd experimental and home made instruments, ranging from the Theremin to the Bamboo Saxophone to Harry Partch's custom instruments. The book discusses the inventors and their instruments. The CD is a very unusual listen. The book is about people who have made "experimental musical instruments". There are two or three pages of text and pictures about each person and their instruments. Interesting stuff, but to really get a feel for the instruments, you would need to hear them. I couldn;t imagine what the rest of the album would contain after hearing NEW YORK, NEW YORK played on a Car Horn Organ, but I wasn't disappointed. Some of the most wonderful sounds coming out of pipes, clay pots, and crystal wine glasses. And the book is a treasure with pictures of the various instruments.

In the 1950s progressive composers broke from the 5 line music staff to experiment with new, more expressive forms of graphic music notation. With the development of music notation, music was set free from the delicate bonds of oral and aural traditions. A standardized, underlying structure meant that everything from Gregorian chant to Johnny B Goode could be preserved and proliferated with relative ease.

Music is a form of art, which derives from the Greek word meaning "art of the Muses. In ancient Greece, the Muses were the goddesses who inspired the arts, such as literature, music, and poetry. Music has been performed since the dawn of human time with instruments and through vocal song. While it is not certain how or when the first musical instrument was invented, most historians point to early flutes made from animal bones that are at least 37,000 years old. The oldest known written song dates back 4,000 years and was written in ancient cuneiform.
