A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is the fifth studio album by British alternative rock band Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was released on 5 November 1982 by Polydor Records. The record marked a change of musical direction, as the group used strings for the first time and experimented in the studio. For Julian Marszalek of The Quietus, the release proved the Banshees to be "one of the great British psychedelic bands.
A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is the fifth studio album released by Siouxsie and the Banshees and was issued by Polydor Records in the UK in 1982. It was reissued, remastered and expanded in 2009. Both a critical and commercial success, it peaked on the UK albums chart at number eleven. The Banshees claimed it to be their personal best, until the release of Peepshow in 1988. Guitarist John McGeoch ceased to be a member of the band shortly after the release of the album.

This album is in fact the Banshees' crowning glory in this experimental vein. Production and arrangements are highly varied and accomplished, and Sioux's singing by now is excellent, capable of imaginative shadings and free of its former tunelessness.
A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is the fifth studio album released by Siouxsie & the Banshees and was issued by Polydor Records in the UK in 1982. The album was written, produced, and arranged by the band.
The album was the band’s first to include the use of strings, which was provided in part by Anne Stephenson of The Venomettes, on tracks such as Slowdive and Obsession. The album is the last to feature guitarist John McGeoch, who left the band after suffering a nervous breakdown due the stresses of touring and alcoholism that caused him to collapse on stage at a Madrid concert. He would be replaced midtour by Cure frontman and guitarist Robert Smith, who is featured on many of the A Kiss in the Dreamhouse’s televised promotional performances
Siouxsie & The Banshees began life as a Punk outfit (with Sid Vicious on drums, no less!) before mutating into Post-Punkers on their way to becoming one of the most influential Goth Rock band on the scene. To this day, over 10 years after their disintegration, the band's fanatical fan base continues to grow. This is another Siouxsie and the Banshees classic and should sit on your music shelf next to "Juju. Get it and prepare for an experimental, darkly romantic sexual ride from "Cascade" to "Slowdive. If you really enjoy this you should immediately get the next Banshees album, "Hyæna. If Siouxsie and the Banshees' "Kaleidoscope" is the sound of the band moving from black and white to primary colours ( literally evident on the album cover logo itself ) then A Kiss in the Dreamhouse is a full-on leap into day glow. It is their psychedelic masterpiece. Lyrically very vivid, each song paints a picture, and sonically more adventurous than they had ever been before.
