Bob Dylan & The Rolling Thunder Revue - Out On The Road FLAC album
Hard Rain - Bob Dylan and Rolling Thunder Revue was recorded on May 23, 1976, during a concert at Hughes Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado.
The Rolling Thunder Revue was a concert tour by American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan with numerous musicians and previous collaborators. The purpose of the tour was to allow Dylan, who had now become a major recording artist and concert performer, to play in smaller auditoriums in less populated cities where he could be more intimate with his audiences. Some of the performers on the tour were Joan Baez, Roger McGuinn, Joni Mitchell, Ronee Blakely and Ramblin' Jack Elliott
How Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Revue Paved the Way for the Eighties Folk Revival. It is in Montreal on December 4th that fire truly rages. In the footage shot that night for Dylan’s surrealist tour drama, Renaldo and Clara, and reprised in Martin Scorcese’s new documentary, Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story, Dylan sings Isis in a feral, biting cadence, in daring rather than reconciliation. His eyes blaze from inside that signature ghost-white makeup as the guitars rise in ire and Scarlet Rivera’s violin dances next to him in sensual, mocking arcs. In his Rolling Thunder Logbook, recounting his impressions as he travelled on the 1975 tour, playwright Sam Shepard wrote about a moment preserved on the rarities CD – Dylan as guerilla minstrel, disrupting a roomful of older women playing mahjong in a Masschusetts oceanside hotel as he sits at a piano and hammers out Simple Twist of Fate.

For this tour, Dylan assembled a loose collective of a backing band called Guam and played across North America for several dozen shows.
Launched in the fall of 1975, Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue flouted the touring conventions of the time by featuring an eclectic cast of characters and playing small and unusual venues with little advance notice. included in the film Renaldo and Clara (1978 film) ~ released on 4 Songs From Renaldo And Clara . 1978 album) ^ released on The Bootleg Series, Vol. 5: Bob Dylan Live 1975 (2002 album) included in Rolling Thunder Revue (2019 film).
The Rolling Thunder Revue era in Bob Dylan's career maintains a central place apparently. The 14-disc Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings is the third release in his catalogue to document it. The first was Hard Rain, for a 1978 television special. 2002's double-disc Bootleg Volume 5 compiled selected performances from the first leg of the tour. It followed the release of Blood on the Tracks, and preceded Desire and Street Legal, the most musically diverse period in Dylan's career. Two of the three rehearsal discs from . studios are worthy of a cursory listen, especially "Rita May," "People Get Ready," and incomplete takes of "Hollywood Angel," and "Gwenevere.
Life isn’t about finding yourself, or finding anything – it’s about creating yourself, Dylan says in a new interview in the film. By the time Renaldo and Clara appeared, he was making a new album, Street Legal, and preparing for a marathon world tour with a different lineup, still powerful but retaining little of Rolling Thunder’s raggle-taggle spirit . Bob Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue tour of 1975-76 is a paradox in the well-stuffed annals of his concert career: It is at once his best-documented and most elusive trek. On the road, such talents as singer Ronee Blakley (a freshly minted star of Robert Altman’s Nashville ), Joni Mitchell and Roger McGuinn would take guest shots; poet Allen Ginsberg, playing finger cymbals, and playwright Sam Shepard were along for the ride. The guts of the Revue box are the 10 discs featuring every Dylan performance from five shows on the ’75 leg: Worcester, Cambridge and Boston, MA (with afternoon and evening concerts in the latter town) and Montreal.
The Rolling Thunder Revue did one more leg, but Dylan has never stopped touring. He hinted at that to me after the Madison Square Garden show. Why tour? I think that’s what I have to do. It’s in my blood. People can see me in person all over the world. This tour ain’t gonna stop. There’s a scroll at the end of the Scorsese film that documents every date that Dylan has played on his Never Ending tour since Rolling Thunder. Suffice it to say, it’s a very, very long scroll.
