I admit: I like Journeyman's second album, NATIONAL HIJINX, even more than his first. Here, there's a more sonically dense mix, as well as more brooding. The strings and guitars on "National Hijinx" sound almost mournful at times, and that's well before the percussion clatters in. The drum'n'bass that introduce "National Hijinx Part 2 (Mr. Swanks Menstore)" matches the creepy horror movie sample lingering over the track (with a little room for some sleazy funk too)
CD - Ninja Tune, Ntone/Ninja Tune. This is polished, complex stuff, and a fascinating listen on the scale of FSOL or Ntone labelmates Neotropic.

Journeyman is the eleventh solo studio album by Eric Clapton. Heralded as a return to form for Clapton, who had struggled with alcohol addiction and had recently found sobriety, the album has a 1980s electronic sound, but it also includes blues songs like "Before You Accuse Me", "Running on Faith", and "Hard Times. Bad Love" was released as a single, reaching the No. 1 position on the Album Rock Chart, and being awarded a Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance in 1990
