Jeffrey Stolet, who was born in 1955 in Puerto Rico, studied at the University of New Mexico, and got his doctorate in music composition at the University of Texas, is a leading computer music composer who joined the faculty of the University of Oregon in 1988. He became the director of the Center for Computer Music at that institution's School of Music and director of Future Music Oregon.
