Live At The Apollo Tracklist. 2. I'll Go Crazy Lyrics. 3. Try Me by James Brown & The Famous Flames Lyrics. Recorded at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York City on 24 October, 1962, James Brown and the Famous Flames played to an eager crowd and made one of the greatest live albums of all time. Syd Nathan, the boss at King Records, saw the idea of a live album as a big gamble and vetoed the project, forcing Brown to bankroll the performance himself. Browns adamance paid off and the album sold millions of copies by word of mouth. Radio DJ’s played the album on air in it’s entirety which, still to this day, is highly unusual

Live at the Apollo was issued in 1963 and became an instant hit. Not only did it satisfy Brown's small legion of diehard fans- to the tune of being played in its entirety during the evenings on some R&B; radio stations- for the first time, it brought the undeniably intense celebration of his live show to young audiences throughout the country . James Brown & The Famous Flames.

Live at the Apollo (formerly titled Jack Dee Live at the Apollo) is a British stand-up comedy programme performed from the Hammersmith Apollo Theatre in west London. Jack Dee hosted the first two series and the opening show of the third series, performing a short segment before introducing a guest comedian. Until 2015, all episodes were broadcast on BBC One. The show moved to BBC Two in November 2015.

Perhaps the best James Brown album around and it's live!! My goodness this is the hardest working man in show business and you must not miss his best album. Being live at the Apollo - the audience becomes a big part of this album. It's clear James Brown brought that same attitude with him when he recorded this live masterpiece in 1962. You could hardly find a better example, in any idiom, of a performer ready, willing, and able to give an audience his all. James Brown Live At The Apollo crackles with intensity, raw energy, and truth. Plenty of highlights, start with the introduction, it's probably the greatest of all time. More amazing still, The Godfather lives up to it.
