It was recorded at Long Beach Arena, California and Hammersmith Odeon, London during the band's World Slavery Tour.
A Matter of Life and Death and A Matter of the Beast were two concert tours by Iron Maiden from 2006 to 2007. The first tour was unique, as the set list primarily consisted of the band's most recent release, A Matter of Life and Death, in its entirety, although this got a mixed response from audiences. Unusually, the first leg didn't include "The Number of the Beast", a song which Iron Maiden had previously played on every tour since its inception
The original release of Iron Maiden’s Live After Death concert video definitely hit home with Maiden fans everywhere. Now, 23 years later, Eddie and the boys are back again, along with the same reaction and reception of the old fans (with the addition of a new generation of Maiden freaks, of course). The title says it all; as awesome as you would expect, but with more. Disc 1 is the concert, which has been re-vamped with video/audio re-mastering, along with a new . Surround Sound audio mix, which totally rocks. The History of Iron Maiden, Part 2 is a very good look at the Powerslave-era of the band, and quite funny too. Rock In Rio 1985 is also cool, since it was the very first one, although not every song in the set is on the DVD. Behind The Iron Curtain is cool as well, since it’s been out of print for a long time, so it’s sweet to see it included on this DVD.
Rime of the Ancient Mariner. 9. The Number of the Beast. 10. Hallowed Be Thy Name. 12. Run to the Hills. 2008 DVD 2. History of Iron Maiden Part 2 - Live After Death (60 Min). Behind The Iron Curtain (Documentary, August 1984, 57 Min). 4. 5. 6. 2 Minutes to Midnight.
Live After Death is a home video release from Iron Maiden, chronicling a 1985 live performance at the Long Beach Arena. In 1985, Iron Maiden was at their all-time peak, touring every corner of the globe amidst the World Slavery Tour. Promoting Powerslave, which was their then most recent studio album, the band continued to garner a global fanbase.
The tour, dubbed World Slavery Tour, was to be over two years in length, and had Maiden playing shows all over the earth, including countries behind the Iron Curtain of the Soviet Union, nations like Poland. The night: March 17. The Location: Long Beach, California. For the fourth straight night, fans had packed Long Beach Arena to see Iron Maiden perform. But this night was special. Live After Death is by far, one of the best live albums I have ever listened to. Right from the opening moments of the album, through to the end, it's clear why Maiden consider themselves to be more of a live band than a studio band. The energy displayed by both the band and the crowd is phenomenal. The high level of energy is especially evident in classic songs like Aces High and The Trooper, songs the crowd really gets into.
The album was recorded live during their World Slavery Tour and includes versions of Aces High, The Trooper, The Number Of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Phantom Of The Opera and many more. SIDE A. 1. Intro (Churchill's Speech) 2. Aces High (Live) 3. 2 Minutes To Midnight (Live) 4. The Trooper (Live) 5. Revelations (Live) 6. Flight Of Icarus (Live). Hallowed Be Thy Name (Live) 2.
