Live Undead is the first live album by American thrash metal band Slayer. It was released through Metal Blade Records and recorded in New York City in front of a room of people. It has been questioned by both critics and authors that the audience sound may or may not be faked. However, in 1984, WBAB Fingers Metal Shop, a radio station, held a contest to meet and hang out with Slayer during a live recording.
Live Undead is the first live album by Slayer. The album was recorded at Tiki Recording Studios in Glen Cove, NY in front of around a dozen people.

Best Live Album ever recorded WHOA ! 9 months ago. Still the best LIVE album ever! 2 weeks ago. Keith Stultz im sure you no this wasn't recorded from a live gig, it was actually recorded in a studio somewhere in Upstate New York in front of 15+ people. I had a good friend turn me on to this album back in Junior High, 1988. I learned he died yesterday. Damn, we're getting older, duders.

Hell Awaits eventually brought all the newer changes out in fuller force, even with subpar production, so Live Undead isn't really necessary except for the hardest of hardcore fans in the end, especially in comparison to Decade of Aggression. Still, it does have its "it could only be Slayer" moments - including Araya's almost casual way of rudely introducing "Captor of Si. Track Listing.
