The Man" is a song by American rock band The Killers from their fifth studio album, Wonderful Wonderful (2017). It was released on June 14, 2017, as the lead single from the album. A cover by English jazz-pop singer Jamie Cullum was released as the lead single from the soundtrack of the 2018 heist film King of Thieves. Drummer Ronnie Vannucci Jr. stated that the song's lyrics were "largely about how when we were younger we felt invincible. What it meant to be a 'man' in your 20's.

Keeping to this mentality, The Killers found their initial successes not within their home country of the United States but within the United Kingdom, where the song Mr. Brightside premiered on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show and consequently found the band a huge following. Albums Hot Fuss, Sam's Town, Day & Age and Battle Born have all reached number one in the UK charts shortly after their release. In the United States, The Killers’ debut album Hot Fuss went triple platinum with the single Mr. Brightside hitting number 10 in the US charts. For the show in Atlantic City at Borgata Festival Park they were undoubtedly on their game. Seeing them on stage together, it was as though it was where they wanted to be. The show in AC, before a crowd of 4500, was a warmup for the 70,000 strong crowd at Firefly.

The Killers have revealed they are stepping away from the "Christmas song game", after releasing an album of Yuletide tracks last year. Don’t Waste Your Wishes featured The Killers’ yearly Christmas singles from 2006 to 2016, and all proceeds from sales of the album went to the Project Red campaign, raising funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in eight African countries. The Killers will perform at the AFL Grand Final in Melbourne this Saturday, 30th September, and will also play a free show for local fans after the game wraps up. The band will return to tour Australia in 2018, with all-ages arena shows plotted in Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Melbourne. RELATED: Brandon Flowers On The Killers’ New Album ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ &.

The Killers are a band that sonically emigrated from New York City back to their hometown of Las Vegas over their 15-year career. Upon arrival on the scene in 2004 with the gender-bending club drama Somebody Told Me, the quintet got lumped in with Big Apple brands such as Interpol. Front man Brandon Flowers had a pretty-boy cool and an Ian Curtis baritone that turned him into a poster boy for disco punk. On subsequent studio albums Sam’s Town, Day & Age and Battle Born, the Nevadans became worshipful of the glitz and heat of the Las Vegas Strip. Flowers began to rely more on a warbling tenor than on emulating gothic heroes such as Bauhaus’ Peter Murphy. The Killers strived to be the Bruce Springsteen of the Southwest - making the gaudy, unforgiving city A Dustland Fairytale, as one Day & Age song describes. Who are the Killers now, at this stage in their career?

The Killers then returned in 2008 with Day & Age, which eschewed the Americana tangents of Sam's Town in favor of pop pastiches and sleek, oddball dance-rock. The band's return to the dancefloor was emboldened by Stuart Price, a veteran producer who had previously worked with Madonna and Gwen Stefani, and the Top 40 single "Human" helped the Killers continue their commercial streak. A lengthy tour carried the band into 2009, which also saw the release of the concert album Live from the Royal Albert Hall
