Opeth - Deliverance FLAC album

By request from John Kilbride. Video is blocked in every country except the USA it seems - sorry about that.

Deliverance is the sixth studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth. It was released on 12 November 2002. It was recorded between 22 July and 4 September 2002 (see 2002 in music), at the same time as Damnation, which was released the following year.

Deliverance (Opeth album). For other uses, see Deliverance (disambiguation). Deliverance is Swedish heavy metal band Opeth's sixth studio album.

The companion album of Opeth's opus, Damnation, Deliverance was intended to provide a contrast to Damnation's tranquil, somewhat depressing progressive rock with a far heavier sound (also with a touch of depressing overtones, though this is less prevalent than in Damnation). In some ways, Opeth succeed. Deliverance is definitely the Swedish band's heaviest recording and generally sticks to the brutal metal like the band promised. On the flip side, the album fails where Akerfeldt and his men usually succeed. Expressing themselves

Deliverance was the album that got me into Opeth. I didn’t know them before. At first I didn’t like it very much but it wasn’t too long until I started to appreciate their unique sound. Being one of their heaviest albums, Deliverance still keeps up all the typical Opeth elements: progressive death metal, complex songwriting, long songs, amazing growls, nice clean vocals, wonderful acoustic parts and, above it all, a mystical, dreamy atmosphere. The only thing I don’t like about this album is the sound.

Album Name Deliverance. Дата релиза 12 Ноябрь 2002. Лейблы Music For Nations.

Deliverance," the 6th observation by Opeth was recorded between the 22nd of July and the 4th of September 2002 at Nacksving studios and at Studio Fredman, Gothernburg, SWE. Mixed at Backstage studios, Ripley, UK. Steven Wilson appears courtesy of Porcupine Tree and Atlantic/Lava records.

Opeth's last album Blackwater Park is a masterpiece and instead of trying to make a similar album, the band went in a new direction. Deliverance still features Opeth's classic progressive death metal sound, but the band implemented some noticeable changes beginning with a much darker sounding production, heavier guitars, and a more straightforward death metal approach at times. This was a welcome change that added another unique release to the band's already impressive discography.

Following up a nearly ubiquitous critical smash such as 2000's Blackwater Park might seem like a daunting proposition for most bands, but Sweden's Opeth has made a career out of proving it is not just any other band, wowing observers with its boundless creativity and seemingly effortless brilliance.

Shaktit
Amazing pressing. Gotta do the comparison with Steven Wilson remixes. A real gem from MOV again.
Kriau
It’s harder than Blackwater Park, but the growls are not as strong in this album. There’s a lot more chorus going on though, almost as they revisited “Still Life”. “Wreath” is like an avalanche, which comes at you in waves of growls, malodic parts and drums. At the end of that I feel numb, comfortably. “Deliverance” is a tracks of many different styles, and shows off the off beat prog drumming for the first time. The cleans as well as the growling vocals are great, and that ending is a pure killer. “A Fair Judgement” is more of a slow track, at least until the solo starts. It doesn’t have growls at all, and is truly beautiful. “For Absent Friends” is an acoustic short song which they have made a few of. “Master’s Apprentices” is very hard also, with great vocals which echoes a lot throughout the track. “By The Pain I See In Others” is kind of a joker. It has much of the known riffs from the other songs, but it suddenly switches to something more black metal inspired as it runs. A very different style of growling is incorporated, and it has more surprising turnovers than you would expect.
Enalonasa
Excellent pressing. Great dynamics and very crankable as it should be. Loved the recent remix versions of Deliverance and Damnatiob but damn the original mixes on the MOV colored for the pair have just been phenomenal.
Skiletus
I've never been disappointed with Koch pressings and this is no exception. MOV pressings are also excellent.
Anarahuginn
This 2008 version doesnt sound bad at all actually and I have the MOV one too. Now In Live Concert At The Royal Albert Hall, that sounds bad (distorted).
Ttyr
For a colour vinyl, this pressing is leagues better than the original PD and subsequent Koch pressing on black wax. MOV never skip a beat.
Anarawield
Used to have this and sounded HORRIBLE! Avoid, and get the MOV repress instead, guaranteed to sound fabulous, and on high quality vinyl too.
Keramar
Good pressing, rather silent and very dynamic.
WtePSeLNaGAyko
The more aggressive, darker Opeth, that I certainly enjoyed. Deliverance was certainly not without it's controversy - the hair back up, riffing more ridgid - however, this record showcases a much more intellectual approach to their class of prog song writing, that heralded the bands survival.
