Tonight's the Night is the sixth studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, released in June 1975 on Reprise Records. It was recorded in August–September 1973, mostly on August 26, but its release was delayed for two years. It peaked at on the Billboard 200. In 2003, the album was ranked number 331 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.

Written and recorded in 1973 shortly after the death of roadie Bruce Berry, Neil Young's second close associate to die of a heroin overdose in six months (the first was Crazy Horse guitarist Danny Whitten), Tonight's the Night was Young's musical expression of grief, combined with his rejection of the stardom he had achieved in the late.
Neil Young's Tonight's the Night is a harrowing record about loss and death. Yet it often sounds like a raucous party thrown by a bunch of lovable knuckleheads having the time of their life. Tonight’s the Night, a noisy, harrowing scrape along the guardrail that sends sparks flying upward, was Young’s most moving dispatch from his chosen place. As summer turned to fall in 1973, 18 months after Harvest hit stores, Neil Young was 27 years old. He was learning that bad things can start to happen when you reach your late twenties, especially when you’re drinking too much and doing too many drugs and are hanging around people who do the same.

"Lookout Joe" and "Borrowed Tune" were recorded at Broken Arrow.
"Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown" Recorded Live @ Fillmore East.
The other songs were recorded at "Studio Instrumentals" rehearsal hall "D" in Hollywood, except "Come On Baby Let's Go Downtown" by Crazy Horse with Danny Whitten singing.
