Jack Rose - Dr Ragtime & Pals / Self Titled FLAC album

CD2 of this set, 'Self Titled', is a reissue of Jack Rose's 2006 'Jack Rose' album on aRCHIVE (archive28).

Like Fahey, Jack Rose harks back to a fantasy of the old weird America.

It remains a mystery as to why the name of Jack Rose hasn't spread further afield in this country. Rose has been slowly but surely forging a reputation as one of the USA's foremost revivalists of what used to be known as 'American Primitive'. ie: he deals in the same open-tuned acoustic folk blues that the legendary John Fahey and the Revenant label made famous in the '60s and '70s. Despite being featured by Fiona Talkington on Radio 3's Late Junction nearly four years ago he remains a bafflingly word-of-mouth proposition

Since I don't have the original Tequila Sunrise edition, I can't speak for it, but this one is a mess. Songs titles are changed. For example, "Bells" is "Fishtown Flower" and "Fishtown Flower" is "Blessed be by the name of the Lord" and so on...the 2nd cd has misspelled "Miss Mary's Place" instead of "Miss May's Place", but titles are correct at least.
