NewOrder - NewOrder Story FLAC album
Still Waiting For The Siren's Call? Get Ready, we'll take you Closer to Unknown Pleasures.
An album that was the sound of the future when it was released in 1979, and an album that sounds as relevant, urgent and ‘from the future’ here and now. One of the most seminal albums to be recorded, Joy Division’s 'Unknown Pleasures' has influenced countless creative minds over the years, and continues to be an instructive legacy that sees no end. The anniversary itself has been commemorated with a series of celebrations in Manchester and across the world over the past week. The album was re-released as an LP last Friday pressed on 180g ruby red vinyl with an alternative white cover.

Joy Division (Factory, 1980)Peter Saville: This cover for the band’s second album was like a work of antiquity, but inside is a vinyl album, so it’s a postmodern juxtaposition of a contemporary work housed in the antique. At first, I didn’t believe the photo was an actual tomb but it’s really in a cemetery in Genoa.
It was released in the United Kingdom in November 1994 by London Records and, with a different track listing, in the United States on 14 March 1995 by Qwest Records and Warner Bros.
