Erik Blood creates music that lives in the magic hour. His production is a nuanced secret told only to his co-conspirators (Shabazz Palaces, Moondoggies, THEESatisfaction most notably). After two albums and a film score, Blood is delving further inward, into the dream, and returning with tales and melodies that evoke the warmth between two bodies and the dizziness of love, sex, or other substances.
Erik Blood is a Seattle-based producer, t, and singer/songwriter.
In May 2009, Erik Blood released his first solo album The Way We Live to wide acclaim. The album debuted at number one on KEXP’s variety chart and was hailed by The Stranger upon it’s release: Crafted with care and expertly produced, The Way We Live seems destined to attain pop-classic status. Artist descriptions on Last.
What does Erik Blood think about when he wakes up in the morning? When did he feel most satisfied? The music producer - who seemingly has worked with everyone in Seattle - tells KEXP the answers to these questions and more during a few free moments between working with more world class musicians. It comes in all shapes. My first record (The Way we Live) was just a collection of songs that I shaped into a storyline of sorts. Touch Screens was a crazy process that I can't remember or have blocked out. This one I'm just trying to let it dictate itself.

NotesCinematic and wide-screen rock and roll are the first things that come to mind when listening to this record. Erik Blood seamlessly stitches together My Bloody Valentine, Marvin Gaye, The Psychedelic Furs, and Phil Spector girl group aesthetics into a stunning debut album.
