The Chamber Symphony No. 1 in E major, Op. 9 (also known by its title in German Kammersymphonie, für 15 soloinstrumente, or simply as Kammersymphonie) is a composition by Austrian composer Arnold Schoenberg. It was finished in 1906 and premiered on February 8, 1907 in Vienna by the Rosé Quartet together with a wind ensemble from the Vienna Philharmonic, under the composer's baton

Early Schoenberg I enjoy. I didn't mind the Berg violin concerto on this CD - very well performed and interesting musically. But the two Schoenberg pieces - sorry, it's music to become a serial killer by. The piano concerto is the lesser of two evils - the violin concerto is, again for me, truly irritating. This is a budget re-release on the Universal Classics label of this album from Deutsche Grammphon in the 1970s. The original DG includes a booklet with liner notes, this release does not. Either way, you get a great three-concerto disc featuring Rafeal Kubelik conducting the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. Outside the US, the budget re-release is on Universal's Eloquence label, and retains secondary DG branding. The performances are all first-rate. The disc starts out with a terrific Violin Concerto by Alban Berg with Polish virtuoso Henryk Szeryng as soloist, delivering a very lively.
