Very sad, very sad this USA initiated mix and release was a cheapo quick-turn-around gaff from day one.1. The Custom "Film Reel" labels these were printed with a band of matt black around the edge of the print and the labels die cut to fit exactly to the anti slip ridges that USA EMI-Capitol were now incorporating and following their UK parent's lead from 1954+. However........ The label printing was either slightly off the correct x spots or the 3"+ Die Cutter head was off the correct central X spot. So the labels are cut off true centre not printed off true centre. so on playback the labels look off centre and wonky.2. Added to the above Die Cutting slackness, that the whole father plates were not 100% centred on the stamper the singles also have noticeable "swing" even worse when the disc is played using a USA 45rpm Adaptor who's centre hole is deliberately manufactured over-size so induces it's own quite nasty "swing"3. The hastily re-substituted B side because EMI Capitol had no commercial rights to the dialog and had no intention of paying for it, IHJTDWY is in it's mono mix (1.00000000000000000 times better than a Duophonic mix true). But needlessly cut and mastered in mono Atleast UK EMI did the right thing sonically and cut a Stereo master for their version.4. Those wafer thin West Coast + sleeves with the very severe curve cut (sleeve circumcision) front dipping below the records run-on groove and cutting off the "Capitol" Cinema (Movie Theatre) Canopy why? Only in the USA were these dreadful deep curve front cut sleeves both company generic and plain white in addition to picture sleeves on very thin paper printed and used. Great shame and just look like a cheapo after-thought. Luckily most USA East Coast printed sleeves have a straight top and actually cover and protect the disc. So, apart from the tie-in thought out custom Spool labels this vile 45 has nothing going for it. A total Capitol rip off to get some Capital. Some people need to be put on that execution gurney the printer/cutters the vault manager, the cutting engineer and explain their slackness and needlessness!
The UK EMI-Parlophone version of this concoction although in the same picture cover but not having these custom film reel labels, does have "I am Happy Just To Dance With You" in it's Stereo mix. (Again proving that the team at the tower were just inept), The commercial B side was to have the same snippets of chatter as the promo pressing from A Hard Day's Night production, Capitol could not get clearance from United Artists and Apple Corps over fees.
