Alita Moses, a CT-born, Philly-brewed vocalist, is taking on the music scene with a melting-pot of projects including the pop/funk band, Snack Cat, a duo-act with singer-songwriter, Devon Yesberger, an international tour with the Walter Fishbacher jazz trio, and many other performances at top venues like Joe's Pub, Rockwood Music Hall, Bowery Electric, and many more.
The album's title derives from Stax executive Dino Woodward's nickname for Hayes, which he bestowed upon the musician after comparing the effects of his music on black audiences to the leadership of the biblical figure Moses. The then deeply Christian Hayes shied away from the nickname, finding it "sacrilegious", although journalist Chester Higgins popularized the "Black Moses" nickname in.
Black Moses is the fifth studio album by American soul musician Isaac Hayes. It is a double album released on Stax Records' Enterprise label in 1971. The follow-up to Hayes' successful soundtrack for Shaft (also a double album), Black Moses features Hayes' version of The Jackson 5's hit single "Never Can Say Goodbye". Hayes' version became a hit in its own right, peaking at number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Следить Слежу Не следить. MOSES' - MOSES Album. Ryan Achten,. Следить Слежу Не следить. For the debut album by New Zealand psychedelic band, MOSES, I aimed to continue to reflect the surreal nature of their music, whilst paying ode to a key inspiration of mine; Hieronymus Bosch. Bosch’s work fitted neatly with existing Christian iconographic themes I had established in previous MOSES releases; especially evident in his magnum opus, The Garden of Earthly Delights.
The debut album from Moses Sumney is a soulful, cosmic embrace of aloneness. The album caters to pessimists who argue that our culture’s brain-dead emphasis on romance and love distracts from the inevitability of racial and class power struggle. It might confound others who don’t think the pursuit of those things is necessarily diametrically opposed. Frantz Fanon, the greatest writer on colonial politics and colonial love in the 20th century, was also a skeptic, not unlike Sumney: Oh my body, he famously wrote in 1952’s Black Skin, White Masks, always make me a man who questions.
