Songs From The Sidings - Demo Recordings 1985 - 1987. Jangle pop cult heroes the Siddeleys formed in London in the spring of 1986 after singer/guitarist Johnny Johnson gave a tape of her home-recorded songs to fellow guitarist Allan Kingdom. After posting flyers seeking rhythm section recruits in the Rough Trade Shop, the Ladbroke Grove club Bay 63, and other area locales, Johnson and Kingdom inducted bassist Andrew Clark and drummer Phil Goodman prior to the Siddeleys' debut gig at the Clarendon Ballroom on December 1, 1986.

The Siddeleys were a London-based indie pop band, active during the late 1980s The band formed in 1986, comprising female singer Johnny Johnson, Andrew Brown (bass), Allan Kingdom (guitar), and Phil Goodman (drums). Goodman left in 1987, to be replaced by former Jamie Wednesday and Bob drummer Dean Leggett, who was himself replaced by David Clynch. They moved to Sombrero Records for the follow-up, the John Parish-produced Sunshine Thuggery EP (1988), which caught the ear of John Peel who invited the band to record a session for his BBC Radio 1 programme.

Track 11 was recorded in late 1986. All other songs were recorded between late 1985 and early 1986.
