Junta - Junta FLAC album
Junta (/ˈdʒʊntə/ JUUN-tə) is the debut studio album by the American rock band Phish. The album was self-released by the band in May 1989 without the support from a record label, and received a wider release when Elektra Records reissued it on compact disc in 1992. Junta was preceded by two demo recordings – The White Tape (1986) and The Man Who Stepped Into Yesterday (1988) – which circulated among the band's fanbase but did not receive an official release.
The vinyl release was created from the original stereo master reels with lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering, and pressed onto 180g audiophile grade vinyl and includes a free MP3 download of the entire album (transferred from the new vinyl master).

A political imaginary of the urban at war with itself is becoming reality. These are songs that reflect despair and resistance in the face of our civilisation's highest achievement. Recorded, mixed and mastered by ourselves at No Master's Voice.
So, in a way, Junta is Phish's first album. Junta is strongly based on jamming, definatley more so than any other Phish album. The album also gives off a very real sound, similar to how a bands first album usually is. Mainly because at this time, their were simply a couple of Vermont dorm room pals who just liked to jam. Money really wasn't a must, cathing fame (Especially from a Jam Band) were very unrealilistic.
