Eric Hilliard Nelson (May 8, 1940 – December 31, 1985) was an American rock and roll star, musician, and singer-songwriter. From age eight he starred alongside his family in the radio and television series The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet. In 1957 he began a long and successful career as a popular recording artist.

Ricky Nelson is the second album by teen idol Ricky Nelson, released in 1958. The album contained Ricky Nelson's first composition, "Don't Leave Me This Way", and a track written by his lead guitarist James Burton along with bass player James Kirkland called "There Goes My Baby".

After releasing his first two singles, "A Teenager's Romance"/"I'm Walking" and "You're My One and Only Love," on Verve Records, Ricky Nelson switched to Imperial Records in the fall of 1957 for his third single, "Be-Bop Baby"/"Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?," and his debut album, Ricky. The result was even greater success: the single's A-side reached the top five and its B-side the Top 40, making for a gold record, and the LP topped the charts.

Ricky Nelson – Eric Hilliard Ricky Rick Nelson was an American actor, musician, and singer-songwriter. Nelson began his entertainment career in 1949 playing himself in the sitcom series The Adventures of Ozzie. Loving You album release in July 1957, it immediately prompted both Ricky Nelson and Eddie Cochran to record cover versions of the song. Nelsons was the B side of a hit single, while Cochrans was an album cut, the impact of the Elvis version was felt across the Atlantic. Eddie Cochran recorded his version in August 1957 and released it on the album Singin to My Baby, musicians on the session were, Eddie Cochran - guitars, ukulele, vocals Perry Botkin Sr.

The teenage phenomenon that was Ricky Nelson proved that he was not just a singles sensation on 11 November 1957. After three big hit 45s in the US, he made his first-ever appearance on the American album chart with Ricky. Then came that first album, which steadily made its way up the charts until it made it all the way to No. 1 on 20 January 1958, taking over from Elvis’ Christmas Album. The Ricky LP spent two weeks at the top of the American countdown, before Frank Sinatra made the top spot with Come Fly With Me.
