Fiddlin' John Carson (March 23, 1868 – December 11, 1949) was an American "old-time" folk fiddler and an early-recorded country musician  . In his teens, Carson learned to play the fiddle, using an old Stradivari-copy violin brought from Ireland in the early 18th century.
