Hau-RUK originally released 1971 on Ohr Records (OMM 5. 14). Includes 32-page booklet with notes in German and English, photographs and discographies. Following on from Xhol Caravan was Xhol. According to some sources Xhol had already split up by the time this, their second album, was released. It's a live recording that dates from July 1970, and continues from ELECTRIP on a more esoteric level, overtly trippy in feel. The LP had just one lengthy improvisation per side, the cosmic Breit with its fuzzed and wah-wah saxes, all tripping along in a manner similar to Embryo or Annexus Quam at their most out-there.
Hau-RUK is a live album by the German band Xhol Caravan, an influential member of the krautrock music movement. By the time of this release, they were known simply as Xhol. The album was recorded in 1970 and released in 1971. The original release contained only two tracks, recorded live on July 1 and 2, 1970 in Göttingen, Germany
Only for completionists (0%). Breit" is the first of three looong songs included in this album,by the way called Hau - Ruck, which has a very slow tempo, as you can imagine a long 24 minute song could have some changes on it, and progress during it, so if you want to give it a chance, dont get desperate because believe me is so slow and could.
Genre: Jazz, Rock, Blues. Style: Krautrock, Jazz-Rock, Fusion. Xhol loved to challenge! They did also reform in 1974 for a planned album on Brain, however only one (LP side-long) track was completed which is now documented here as Süden Twi Western. which finds them on a jazzier footing, showing even more the Zappa fusion influence. Xhol Caravan shortened their name to Xhol before the release of this album, recorded live in early July 1970 and released the next year. Hau-ruck has two sidelong jams of loose free-form improvisation. Briet" is instrumental, tripped-out jazz, veering from spacy cosmic sounds to more upbeat sections as the rhythm kicks in, to sections of noisy squall. Schaukel" starts that way as well before eventually morphing into . King's classic "Rock Me Baby," with some lyrics changed to "if you don't rock/you can suck my cock
