Myra Hess, Beethoven / Schumann / Bach - Piano Concerto No.2 / Piano Concerto In A Minor / Toccata In G Major, BWV916 FLAC album
Karoliina Ruhno, 10 years old pianist, plays . Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op.
And in Beethoven's Second Piano Concerto there are quite a few slips, though her interpretaion and chracteristic warmth of tone, are as distinguished as ever. In Schumann's Piano Concerto, one of her very special favourites, she gets wooden accompaniment from Sargent, but triumphs over adversity- but there are other recordings where she doesn't have to. A Bach Toccata brings this slightly sad disc to a properly upbeat close.

The Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54 was completed in the year 1845 and is the only piano concerto written by the German Romantic composer Robert Schumann. The work was premiered in Dresden on December 4, 1845. Schumann had earlier worked on several piano concerti: he began one in E-flat major in 1828, from 1829–31 he worked on one in F major, and in 1839, he wrote one movement of a concerto in D minor. None of these works were completed.

Jasper van Soolingen. This means that I finally got to upload the version I liked most. The instrument has changed from piano to grand-piano. I hope you like this version as much as I do. Enjoy!
For almost two centuries, the original version of the Piano Concerto No. 2 was assigned to the year 1794, when Beethoven was 23 and needed a showpiece for his public debut in Vienna. He did introduce it in the Court Theater on March 29, 1795, during the Lenten season when Hapsburg Catholicism banned all theatrical activity . This was this version he introduced in 1795 and then further revised in 1798 for Prague, giving it still another finale. The "official" First Concerto in C, published as Op. 15, wasn't composed until 1797.
