An Interview with Simon Stålhamre of Small Feet. August 18, 2015 August 18, 2015 zacharyhoule. I recently had the chance to sort of – virtually – sit down and do an interview via e-mail with Simon Stålhamre of the Swedish folk band Small Feet, whose debut album ( From Far Enough Away Everything Sounds Like the Ocean ) has just been released on Barsuk Records.

Those sounds of the sea, splashing waves, and seagull-screams, that we propose you to listen to on this site, were recorded very close to the real sea with the help of 2 microphones. One mike we put near a small creek, the other – on the shore. That’s how we overlaid two sea sounds: the sounds of waves come from afar, but the sounds of splashing water are close, near the stones. In this way we created a very realistic sound picture of the seashore.

How far can you see on the open ocean? If I'm looking out into to the ocean, how many miles away is the horizon? How far can you see the horizon? How can we see that planets very far away have Oceans? How do you measure the depth of sea or ocean? Abdul Samad Virk, Project Manager (2010-present). Answered Aug 27, 2017. The faintest sounds are far softer than any human could hear-even softer than any of our finest scientific instruments could detect. But depending on where you are, sound has a hard maximum. The reason is that sound isn’t a thing in itself-it’s a pressure wave moving through a medium. 100 miles away, the sound was still 172 dB, enough to permanently destroy someone’s ears or even kill them. Wherever you are, think of a place that’s about 100 miles (161 km) away. Now imagine something happening there that causes a sound so loud where you are that if you were screaming at the top of your lungs directly into someone’s ear when the sound hit, they wouldn’t be able to hear that you were doing it. For comparison, the Saturn V launch sound was at 170 dB 100 meters away. Krakatoa was higher than that 100 miles away

So Far From the Clyde Lyrics. Mark Knopfler – So Far From the Clyde. As if to a wave from her bows to her rudder Bravely she rises to meet with the land Under their feet you can feel her keel shudder The shallow sea washes their hands. Later the captain shakes hands with the hangman Climbs slowly down to the oily wet ground Goes back to the car that has come here to take him Through the graveyard and back to the town. So far from the Clyde Together we ride, we did ride. And he drives her hard into the shore. As if to a wave from her bows to her rudder, Bravely she rises to meet with the land. Under their feet they all feel her keel shudder; The shallow sea washes her (?) hands.
